Getting Around In The Future

Travelling quickly, skillfully and smartly - that's the aim of this event all about transportation and mobility. You can expect courses and trails to follow on earth, water, rail tracks and in the air. Meanwhile, pop in to our workshops about "The City Of The Future".

How can we make cities safer and fairer? Which modes of transport are sustainable and inclusive? To what extent do we need to be looking at consumption of our planet's resources? Try out different ways of getting around and develop your own vision for the mobility of the future. Let's go!

Thanks to ISICargo Lastenräder, you can try out a large selection of cargo bikes on 21st and 22nd September. Meanwhile on the pump track, we've got real BMX professionals on site showing you how it's done.

On Water

Navigate your way across water with a range of watercraft. Take small boats and canoes out onto the mini lake, drag yourself from shore to shore with the ferry or, for a dryer experience, head to the reading corner and immerse yourself in sailors' stories of the seas.

On Foot

Who needs a vehicle when we have our own two feet? Get close to nature with a barefoot trail, test yourself on the obstacle course, take part in the balance challenge and see how you fare on stilts and other 'extensions'.

On The Track

Discover the fascination of the railway. Climb aboard our historic light railway and chug through the countryside, find out what a draisine is and see if you have the necessary teamwork or take a seat in the Feldbahn e.V.'s extremely rare 5-inch railway.

On Wheels

Explore the world on hoverboards, unicycles and anything else with wheels; test your skills at wheelchair basketball; race around the track with remote-controlled cars; learn how to dance on roller skates and balance on running balls. Meanwhile at the street art workshop, you can design your own street sign art.

In The Air

Battle it out in our big paper airplane challenge and get closer to the perfect folding technique for optimum aerodynamics with each new attempt. Or you can travel through the air yourself by jumping high on our Jump Spot. There's also a slackline for you to test your balance.

All Roads Lead To The FEZ

Additional travel options to the FEZ via different forms of transport and from different parts of Berlin are currently in the planning stage. More information to follow.

Workshop: Turning Old Into New

Welcome to the Upcycling Arena, where creativity meets sustainability. Breathe new life into old inner tubing from bikes or become a deisgner as you give old road signs a fresh new look. Gain inspiration as you watch street artist at work or become an engineer and make moving vehicles from leftover wood.

Workshops: City Of The Future

What does a child-friendly city look like? Which modes of transport are sustainable and inclusive? What sort of barriers will be faced and how can we overcome them? Meet experts for sustainable mobility and learn how we can play our part in reducing the resources we use in order to make environmentally-friendly places to live.

Road Safety Training

In this practical road safety training, you'll learn all about the potential dangers of travelling in road traffic. Of course, you'll also be focusing on the important rules of the road for cyclists and pedestrians when you're on the street.
