Adventiamo - The FEZ's Family Advent Programme

For families with children aged 5 and up

There's good news for everyone who loves the run up to Christmas. Because this year will also see our creative kids' Christmas market Adventiamo taking place on each weekend in Advent until 20th December. There's no better way to get in a festive mood than making gifts and decorations in our Christmas workshop and baking Christmas cookies in the Adventiamo kitchen.

The activities are all aimed at children but parents and grandparetns are of course very welcome to join in.

It wouldn't be Adventiamo without Father Christmas and he'll be here to play Christmas songs and carols on the piano.

And because there is so much we love about Advent and Christmas, we've separated each weekend into different themes, each with their own special activites to join in with.

Advent Weekend:  Sat 28th + Sun 29th November

"Santa On The Beach"
Do families in the countries of Africas, South America and Asia celebrate Christmas? If so what traditions do they have? What do the children play with and what Christmas decorations do they make?

Advent Weekend:  Sat 5th + Sun 6th December

"Christmas Back Then"
How did grandma and grandad celebrate Christmas when they were little? What games did they play? What did they make? Whether in the sewing room, grandma's bakery or in the playroom, you'll find out what Christmas was like in the 1950s. Featuring model railways and Anker stone blocks.

Advent Weekend:  Sat 12th + So 13th December

"Russian Fairy Tale Advent"
Father Frost and his friends will be in attendance on the 3rd weekend of advent. The Chirstmas market will feature a samover so you can join Father Frost for a hot drink and let Snegurochka what you'd like for Christmas. Play with Russian fairly tale figures, listen to the storyteller and try festive Russian delicacies.

Advent Weekend:  Sat 19th + Sun 20th December

"Advent Arts & Crafts“
It's all about getting creative on the last weekend before Christmas. Various artists, craftsmen and women, initiatives and associations will be in attendance to help you make presents and decorations with a difference.

Last but not least, each Adventiamo weekend will feature an on-stage Christmass programme and Christmas films galore in the fezino cinema. Access to the cinema is included in the price of your Day Ticket. Theatre tickets must be bought to watch the productions on the Astrid Lindgren Stage but these theatre tickets grant you access to the main Adventiamo event.
