youthCON '23 – The Event For You!

At youthCON '23 you are encouraged to get involved, try new things and experiment. A whole series of workshops and activity programmes will allow you to be creative, research and build. We believe that there's nothing better than doing or creating something yourself. We've got activities to test your creativity such as screen printing, upcycling and grafitti workshops. And then, there are sporting activities and workshops with a focus on technology and media. Questions such as 'how do I create my own deodorant?' will also be answered and there'll be an entertainment programme featuring talks and live performances on the stage.

On-Stage Programme

As part of the days' events, you can look forward to a diverse stage programme featuring music, dance and talks on numerous subjects. Young entrepreneurs and makers will be presenting what they have achieved so early in their lives and you can ask them anything you want. The musical side will showcase a range of Berlin-based newcomers who are sure to impress you before they become famous on a greater scale.

DIY

In our DIY area, you'll find a range of creative ideas for you to try out and adapt according to your own inspiration.
Have you always wondered how deodorant is made? Our wild herb workshop will show you just what ingredients are required and how the whole thing works. Of course, the finished product can then be taken home.
Still looking for something else? Well, you're in luck because we have many more creative activities from origami to macramé and turning old fabric into something new and, thus also helping the environment. There's something for everyone! And if you're hungry from all the crafting at the end of the day, stop by our show kitchen and mix up your own smoothie.

Creatives

Would you like to make your own comic book? Or learn how to bring life and zest to your creative writing? If so, you're in the right place with creativity the name of the game for each activitiy. Activities such as screen printing, batik, tape art and grafitti are all on the agenda as well as answers to questions such as: 'how do I create my own meme?'. You'll also have the chance to find your poetic streak and create a tattoo depicting your favourite person using henna paint. There will be further workshops for comic books, political education and music making. For the screen-printing and batik workshop, we ask you to bring your own textiles for dyeing and printing, as we cannot provide enough materials for all participants.

Technology

Have you ever wondered how a 3D printer works? The technology area is the place to be if so because the answers to this and many other questions are waiting to be discovered.
Our Future Lab doubles up as the technology area and it is here where you can gain an introduction into 3D printing and get professional guidance about soldering. There are no doubt many more surprises awaiting. And don't forget to start guessing what might be behind the tetra pics.

All About Media

Gaming, artificial intelligence and programming are the major topics waiting to be explored in our media area. You'll also find short films and other interactive formats.
This is your chance to discover the world in virtual reality thanks to our VR glasses. You can take part in Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, try out a variety of arcade games and get active with our Wii Switch tournament. A more relaxing alternative would be the short films produced by film students. And the Hacker School will also be present and ready to answer all your questions about programming and artificial intelligence.

Sport

The place to get really active is in our sports area. You'll really work up a sweat in a dance battle or a range of other sporting tournaments.
It might be football, basketball or table football but there are tournaments for each where you can put your skills to the test. If you're less into ball sports but still want to burn off some energy then our House Dance Workshop might be just the ticket as you take your first steps into the world of Urban Dance.
We would advise everyone who wants to take part in these sporting activities to bring appropriate sportswear-style clothing.
